This is an exceptional historic property that was brought back from ruins and carefully rehabbed for use by modern travelers. The owners have had experience in doing this, and are providing a very comfortable and memorable stay. The queen bed was comfortable as were the bed linens. A bottle of water was provided for each of us and the bathroom was huge…with shampoo, shower gel and facial soap provided. We have always lived where the sound of a train was prevalent in our lives. This is right by an active rail line and the train runs through it. For us, it was very soothing. If that is not part of your life it could be a distraction. For us, it was delightful.

We were able to get a last minute reservation after visiting Mammoth Cave Park. The Inn was beautiful and the owners were very welcoming. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and across the street were the ruins of a tavern from the 1800's. We love antiques and enjoyed exploring the Inn and all the period decor. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed visiting with the other guests before we checked out.

The location was excellent, in proximity to Mammoth Caves National Park and at least one private cave, the main attractions of the area. The Victorian house was full of vintage furnishings and decorations, and the hosts strove to be helpful. Also, except for the trains which periodically pass, the spot was peacefully quiet. The breakfasts were tasty and ample.

The breakfast was great and the owner was super friendly. It was easy to park and convenient to bring things into our room since we had a room with a private entrance onto the porch. The room had everything we needed, including good pillows, a rare find in hotels these days. Location is great for going to Mammoth Cave National Park.

Very nice staff. I felt right at home, from the start! The location is perfect..away from noise/traffic, except the occasional train. Enjoyed looking at all the antiques, and reading some of Sherlock Holmes (found in my room’s bookshelf)! The porch was ideal to sit and chat/read. Breakfast was great and cozy.
